Mehter Outfits
Mehterbaşı: He wears a red hood or broadcloth "biniş" (a very loose-fitting robe) on his back, he wraps his head in a red "kavuk" (men's headdress made of cotton fabric and wraps around a turban), "destar" (a turban), red "broadcloth" (flat, thin, hairless and densely woven wool fabric), "çaşşir" (a thin kind of men's baggy shalwar), and yellow "mestpabuç" (boots) on his feet. Cevganis: They wore red riding, turban and shalwar, yellow three-skirt dress and yellow "yemen" (a kind of light and coarse shoe). Zurnazens: They wore a purple turban on their heads, a white destar, a white robe, a belt at the waist, a red shalwar, yellow Yemeni and red riding. Boruzens: They wore a turban with a green destar on their heads, a purple, navy blue or black broadcloth on their backs, a red colored çaşşir, solid barred gown, and a red-colored Yemeni on their feet. Nakkarezens: They dressed like Boruzens. |

Tablzens (drummers): It is like the outfit of the Janissary Band.
Köszenbaşı: He wears a red turban on his head, wraps white destars, a red caftan (a long, decorated garment usually made of silk fabric), a long blue belt, a "mintan" (collarless long-sleeved men's shirt), a red "shalwar" on his legs (wide on all sides, but they wore a kind of outer pant with narrow waist and hems), yellow Yemeni and red riding.
