Sultan Ibrahim Khan

Sultan Ibrahim, on February 8, 1640, his brother IV. Upon Murad's death, he ascended to the Ottoman throne at the age of 25 as the eighteenth sultan. He lived a very strict palace life in his princedom, and grew up in fear because his brothers were killed.

The events in the eastern borders of the state ended with the signing of the Kasr-ı Şirin Treaty with Iran and the beginning of the period of peace before his reign. Again in the west, relations with Austria were in order, and the previously signed Zitvatorok Treaty was renewed by adding 9 articles. Thus, the state had a war-free period, even for a short time, both in the east and in the west.

Important efforts were made to ensure the peace of mind of the state and to improve its financial situation, and efforts were made to strengthen the treasury by lowering the currency setting without printing money, and by collecting taxes fairly.

Sultan İbrahim was of medium height, thin, thin-faced and fair-skinned. He had a bushy beard and a thin mustache. He wore a caftan and a crest.
